Crimson Track Compete at NWSC Meet
The Maple Grove Senior High Crimson boys squad finished fifth overall with 78 points, while the girls finished ninth with 48 points.
The boys and girls track and field teams competed Thursday, May 26 at the North Suburban Conference championships in Coon Rapids.
The Crimson boys squad finished fifth overall with 78 points, while the girls finished ninth with 48 points.
Blaine won the boys event with 132 points and Elk River took first for the girls with 104 points.

For the boys, Maple Grove’s top performance as a team came in the 3200 meter run. Alex Johnson took first at 9:43.98, Conner Olson took second at 9:44.92 and Tyler Olson took third at 9:52.73.
Johnson and Conner Olson also finished second and third, respectively, in the 1600 meter run. Johnson finished in 4:26.50, while Olson finished in 4:26.97.

Dustin Johantgen took fifth in the 800 meter run at 2:00.48. The boys 4x800 meter relay took second at 8:07.11, while Dan Butorac finished fourth in the high jump at 6 feet, 0 inches.
Shadeed Crockett took fourth in the boys long jump at 20 feet, 6.5 inches. Crockett also took third in the boys triple jump at 42 feet, 8 inches.
On the girls side, Haley Nelson took sixth in the 200 meter dash at 26.69, and Olivia Rosenow took eighth in the 1600 meter run at 5:38.97.
Olivia Evanson took third in the 100 meter hurdles at 16.53, while the girls 4x100 meter relay team took fourth at 51.45.
The girls 4x200 meter relay took third at 1:46.90, and Madison Ordener took fifth in the girls high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches. Evanson took third in the triple jump with a 35-foot, 3.5-inch performance. Vicky Vinokur took fourth in the shot put with 37 feet, 7 inches.
Vinokur also took second in the discus throw at 123 feet, 1 inch.
