Police responded to the scene of the attack Thursday and deployed a "less lethal" round, striking at least one of the dogs. The dogs then dispersed and ran into the house.

Officers began treating Trawick, who had most of his clothing ripped off and extensive bites on most of his body. He was intubated at the scene and immediately brought to surgery at North Memorial.

Trawick was declared deceased at 1:48 p.m.

All four dogs were transported to Pups Under Police Security (PUPS) and are quarantined. A "dangerous dog evaluation" will determine their future.

Brooklyn Center fire, Crystal police, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, and North Memorial paramedics assisted at the scene.
