Foam Injection For Northwest Metro Highway Begins Friday

During the closure, maintenance crews will inject foam beneath all three lanes of pavement to raise the roadway more than six inches.

Northbound Highway 65 in Fridley will close at 9 a.m. Friday, May 19 between Mississippi Street and 73rd Avenue to repair sunken pavement just south of the BNSF Railroad tracks. During the closure maintenance crews will inject foam beneath all three lanes of pavement to raise the roadway more than six inches.

While the road is closed, northbound motorists should follow the signed detour east on Mississippi Street to Old Central Avenue and north to 73rd Street and west to Highway 65. Repairs are expected to be finished and the highway will reopen by 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 20.
