If you are a local mom (or even not a mom....as long as you're a woman) who is in need of some extra motivation, support and encouragement to get active, consider checking out Moms RUN This Town (MRTT).
MRTT is international, with roughly 1,000 chapters across the United States, Canada, Japan and Germany. MRTT is FREE - all you have to do is request to join your local chapter's private, closed Facebook group.
We have opportunities for group runs several times a week, some of the most popular being Thursday evenings and early weekend mornings. We also have additional workouts scheduled, such as Hill Wednesdays where we tackle hills to change things up and to challenge ourselves.
For all events, walkers and beginners are encouraged to join in - everyone starts somewhere, and MRTT is a great place to begin. You will quickly feel supported and motivated by other members as you begin your journey to increased fitness.
On top of all that, our private Facebook page is a wonderful place to get tips and advice for any of your running questions, find out about local races, etc. It can also be a great place to connect with moms in your neighborhood so you can meet up for a walk, or find individual running buddies or training partners of your same pace.
To be a member, just request to join our page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/champlinmaplegrove/
