Get Smart With Your Money

Drawing from the National Endowment for Financial Education High
School Financial Planning Program and the National Association of Federal Credit
Unions Money Smarts curriculum, high school teens and their parents will explore
the concepts of:

  • Needs vs. wants
  • Planning and goal setting
  • Saving and paying yourself
    first
  • Sound money management using
    checking accounts and debit cards
  • Gift cards
  • Using credit wisely

Lively, thought-provoking questions and real-life examples will
get everyone thinking about the importance of balancing needs vs. wants and how
planning and saving today can really pay off. Participants will also learn about
the benefits and dangers of debit cards and credit cards, and how actions today
can have an impact on options down the road.
