Girl, 14, Was Sexually Assaulted At MN Nudist Club: Police

ANOKA COUNTY, MN — A 69-year-old Pepin, Wisconsin man sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl at a nudist club in Anoka County, according to police.

Steven H. Wicklund was charged on Nov. 16 with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.

On Aug. 30, a detective with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal sexual conduct in Linwood, Minnesota.

A woman told the detective that she found text messages on her daughter’s phone from Wicklund, police said. Wicklund had asked for explicit videos of the 14-year-old girl and her friends., according to the criminal complaint.

When the mom asked, the daughter disclosed that Wicklund sexually assaulted her, authorities said. Police interviewed the girl on Sept. 7, and said she was at the Oakwood Nudist Club in Linwood with her grandparents in July 2023, according to investigators.

She said that Wicklund, identified by the girl as a "family friend," was also there, the criminal complaint states.

The girl said that when she was with Wicklund in a room at the Oakwood Nudist Club, Wicklund started to sexually assault her despite her protests, according to police.

Officers reviewed the texts in the girl's phone and — according to the criminal complaint — found messages from Wicklund that stated "Hey Sexy," "Have you been masturbating or having sex with your girlfriends?" and asked for "recent nudes."
