Join CROSS Meals on Wheels on a Walk to End Hunger

Walk, donate, and support the CROSS Services Meals on Wheels program on Thanksgiving Day.

On Thanksgiving morning, a group from CROSS Services will walk to raise money for the local Meals on Wheels program at the Mall of America during the Walk to End Hunger. The Walk to End Hunger is a 5K family-friendly fun walk Thursday, Nov. 27.

What Meals on Wheels provides is simple, but important: a daily nutritious meal and friendly visit from a volunteer for seniors and people with disabilities who face challenges in cooking for themselves.

“There are many homebound, low income individuals who need our service but cannot afford it. The purpose of our program is to keep individuals in their homes as long as possible and we do not want money to be a barrier,” CROSS Meals on Wheels Coordinator Stephanie Lehman said.

  • Donate to the CROSS Services Meals on Wheels team - If you can’t make it to the mall on Thanksgiving, consider donating to the CROSS Meals on Wheels page at walktoendhunger.org. The CROSS Services Meals on Wheels team hopes to raise $1,500 before the 2014 walk.
  • Lend your support – Stop by the Mall of America Thanksgiving morning to lend your support to the walkers or spread the word to support the team.

“The smiling, concerned, and courteous face of the dedicated MOW volunteer is my first window to the outside world. What a way to start a day! A pleasant smile and a delicious warm meal. It just could not be any better. It is easy to see that Meals on Wheels has my well-being at heart,” a Meals on Wheels client shared.
