Maple Grove Man to Run 24-hour Obstacle Course for Kids Cancer Research
A local man is running a 24 obstacle course race in Vegas come November. He is doing it to raise money for childhood cancer research.

A local resident who lives and works in Maple Grove is planning on running a 24 hour obstacle course race in the Las Vegas desert (Known as "The Toughest Event on the Planet") come this November.
When asked why he runs this event he said, "Outside of work I like to participate in obstacle style mud runs, and endurance races. Last year, the World's Toughest Mudder Community, a community I’m apart of was able to raise $50,000 for wounded veterans in the U.S. This year, as a community, we are shooting for $100,000."
Charles is part of a collective 30 person team who is looking to shave their heads for St. Baldrick’s, then go out to run 1,500 miles this year in 24 hours. This is not a typo or an exaggeration.

This team of 30 people wants to complete a distance that covers half the United States. It's pretty mind boggling. And there certainly aren't many race causes out there who plan on doing the volume that this team is any time soon. The collective goal is $100,000 and the core behind all motivation.
St. Baldrick’s doesn’t really do cute things with this money. They fund cancer research. That’s it. Here’s just one example of their success: http://www.stbaldricks.org/blog/post/breaking-news-the-fda-approves-childhood-cancer-drug/

This is not hopeful fundraising. This is fundraising for actual change.
