Locker Break-In At Maple Grove Fitness Club Nets Prison Term

A man was given prison time after a spree of thefts from gym lockers at various Lifetime Fitness and LA Fitness locations.

Hennepin County District Court Judge William H. Koch sentenced Ronald Lee Guy to 26 months in prison for a spree of thefts from gym lockers at various Lifetime Fitness and LA Fitness locations, including in Maple Grove.

Guy, 39, of Minneapolis, pleaded guilty on March 13 to 12 counts of financial transaction fraud. According to the criminal complaint, between October of 2015 and February of 2016, Guy broke into lockers at fitness clubs in Eden Prairie, Plymouth, Bloomington, Hopkins, Maple Grove, Champlin and Woodbury.

He stole the wallets of 12 victims while they were working out and then made fraudulent charges to the victims’ credit cards at numerous retail stores, according to a news release. Guy was ordered to pay $12,000 in restitution and was taken into custody at his sentencing.
