Man, Dog, And Pig Die In Columbia Heights House Fire
Police and fire crews responded to the fire just after 12:50 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MN — Authorities are investigating after a house fire in Columbia Heights left a man, pet dog, and a pig dead early Thursday.
Just after 12:50 a.m., the Columbia Heights police and fire departments, Allina EMS, and other local fire departments responded to a house fire on the 4600 block of 7th Street Northeast.
Once responders were able to make entry into the house, they found and extracted an unconscious man. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was declared dead.

A pet dog and pig were also found deceased in the home, police said.
The State Fire Marshal, Anoka County Fire Investigation Team, Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
