Maple Grove Ambassadors Inspire Local Students to Dream Big

Ambassadors for the city of Maple Grove recently captured the imagination of students at Cedar Island Elementary and Oak View Elementary.

Ambassadors for the city of Maple Grove recently captured the imagination of students at Cedar Island Elementary and Oak View Elementary on Jan. 5 with stories that encouraged them to dream big. Ambassadors Megan Nelson, Ellie Brimeyer and Kelli Richardson spent time reading to students at the schools, with each story relating to the theme of “…and it all began with a dream.”

Students had plenty of questions for the ambassadors—wondering everything from “why do you all dress the same?” to “what are your hopes and dreams?” The district said the chance to read to local students proved to be a homecoming of sorts for Nelson and Brimeyer, graduates of Osseo Senior High and Maple Grove Senior High, respectively.

According to a district news release, Nelson is a junior at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where she studies elementary and special education. She hopes to teach first, second or third grade after graduating next year. Brimeyer is a student at the University of Northern Iowa where she studies sales and marketing.
