Maple Grove Baseball Stays Alive, Earns Shot At Section Title
The Crimson defeated Irondale 8-4 on Monday to set up a rematch with Coon Rapids, who beat them in the section semifinals

The baseball team stayed alive Monday, June 6 in Section 5AAA play, defeating Irondale 8-4 at Midway Stadium to set up a rematch with Coon Rapids High School in the section championship on Wednesday, June 8.
The Crimson will face the Cardinals at 6 p.m. at Midway Stadium, and in order to qualify for next week’s state tournament Maple Grove will need to beat Coon Rapids twice. That’s because the Cardinals handed the Crimson (22-1) their lone defeat of the season on Friday, June 3, winning 4-1 in the section semifinals.
Maple Grove beat Coon Rapids (18-5) twice in the regular season, once 6-4 on April 29 and another time 4-3 on May 24 in the regular season finale.
