Maple Grove Council Member No Longer Facing Perjury Charges
But charges that LeAnn Bobleter Sargent financially exploited her father remain, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

A cloud has lifted at least partly for a Maple Grove City Council member, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported:
"A spokesman for Hennepin County Attorney Michael Freeman said the office sought dismissal of the perjury charges against LeAnn Bobleter Sargent after it determined it lacked jurisdiction.
"The charges, filed Jan. 28, accused Sargent, 62, of lying under oath in a 2011 Chapter 7 filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court. But at a hearing July 2, prosecutors asked that the perjury counts be dismissed."

The newspaper said a separate underlying charge remains that Sargent unlawfully withdrew funds belonging to her late father before his death.
