Maple Grove dance team finishes second in the jazz division to advance to state dance team tournament. Osseo teams competed, but did not move onto state.
Saturday was a bittersweet day for the dance teams.
The Maple Grove jazz team finished second Saturday, Feb. 4 in the Section 2AAA dance team tournament at and gained a trip to the state meet. But the high kick team -- the defending Class 3AAA champions -- finished out of the money.

The top three finishers in each 13-team division qualified for the state meet, held Feb. 17 and 18 in the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Wayzata won the jazz division, followed by Maple Grove and Eden Prairie.

Eden Prairie finished first in the high kick competition, followed by Wayzata and Hopkins.
Osseo's dance teams competed in the meet, but neither of its teams advanced to state.
