Maple Grove Honors Fallen Police Officers with Display
The Maple Grove Police Department is doing something special this holiday season to honor officers who gave their lives to keep people safe.

Police officers serving their communities are killed in the line of duty every year. The Maple Grove Police Department is doing something special this holiday season to honor peace officers who gave their lives to keep their community safe.
If you drive by the Maple Grove Public Safety Facility, you'll notice two trees lit up with blue lights. City officials set up the display to honor fallen police officers and "to show support for all who are serving to keep our communities safe."
Law enforcement officers in the United States suffered 41 "felonious deaths" in the line of duty last year, almost a 20 percent drop from the 51 cop killings in 2014, according to the FBI’s annual Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted report.
