A Maple Grove man has been charged with attempted murder he after allegedly shot his girlfriend in the face with a shotgun.

A Maple Grove man has been charged with attempted murder he after allegedly shot his girlfriend in the face with a shotgun. Investigators say they received several 911 calls reporting gunfire at a home on the 9100 block of Comstock Lane in Maple Grove on the night of Oct. 5.
KARE 11 reported that a neighbor approached the home after seeing a woman come out of the house badly bleeding. "Mitch shot me" the woman said.
FOX 9 reported that police also received a second emergency call related to the incident from the suspect himself, Mitchell Antil, 52, who identified himself as “Mitch” and told police he shot a woman twice with a buck shot, once in the heart and once in the head.

When police arrived, they surrounded the home and spotted Antil in the home with a shotgun, according to the criminal complaint.
Antil left the residence unarmed and was subsequently arrested. Police say Antil admitted to shooting the woman with a shotgun as she entered the kitchen. Antil told police he “knew what he was doing, that he wanted to kill her,” according to complaint.
