Maple Grove Middle School Resumes Classes After 2 Threats

The Maple Grove Police Department tweeted just before 2 p.m. Thursday that it was investigating a bomb threat at the school.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — Osseo Area Public Schools have assured parents that there is no threat to students and staff despite two separate threats at Maple Grove Middle School this week, FOX9 reported, citing an email the principal sent to parents Thursday night.

The Maple Grove Police Department tweeted just before 2 p.m. Thursday that it was investigating a bomb threat at Maple Grove Middle School but that there were no known risks.

According to an alert sent to parents, students were sent to St. Joseph's Church to be reunited with their guardians Thursday afternoon, but school resumed as usual Friday morning, according to FOX9.

Maple Grove Middle School serves students in grades 6-8 and is one of four middle schools in ISD 279-Osseo Area Schools. Maple Grove Middle’s attendance area includes parts of Maple Grove, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, and Plymouth.

The Minnesota Department of Education reported that there were 36 bomb threats and 356 terroristic threats made in Minnesota public schools during the 2021-2022 school year.
