Maple Grove Strength Athletes Place at State Powerlifting Championships

Maple Grove resident Lee Salz and Vince Pozinski of Maple Grove recently placed in the 2012 Minnesota State Powerlifting Championships last weekend at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. 

Salz walked away with third place in the bench press, Pozinski a fourth place in the same category. Other area competitors include Plymouth resident Stephanie Leonard, who placed second in the women's unequipped category and Brooklyn Park resident Callistus Schissel who placed third in the master unequipped category followed by Plymouth resident Bob Miller in fourth place. Plymouth resident Steve Born and Brooklyn Park resident Blake Hanson also competed in the master unequipped category.

The event bought out 65 strength athletes from across Minnesota to compete, crossing several age categories and level of experience.
