Around noon today, our school went into a brief lockdown due to a report of a knife on campus. Police responded and the knife was confiscated quickly. No students were threatened, no students were injured, and no students were ever in danger. The lockdown lasted about 30 minutes and then school resumed on a regular schedule.

The police and school district will conduct separate investigations into this incident. For now, I want to assure you that the situation was resolved quickly without danger to any student. As was the case today, when there are potential safety concerns in our building, we respond immediately and follow our emergency plan. Our students and staff take the safety of our school and each other very seriously.
