Maple Grove Teen Died By Homicide, New Autopsy Shows
The body of Robbie Anderson, who died in 2009 at the age of 19, was exhumed in November and studied by an independent examiner.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — Robbie Anderson died in 2009 of blunt force trauma to the head and neck, and the manner of death was homicide, according to a new autopsy from an independent medical examiner.
The original autopsy from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner in 2009 declared that the 19-year-old died from "sudden unexplained death."
Cikotte Anderson, the teen's mother, hopes that the new findings result in criminal charges.

"My gut feeling is now validated," Cikotte — who hired the independent medical examiner — recently told the Star Tribune.
"I knew this from the first moment I saw my son's beaten and battered face at the hospital where he was declared dead. I sure hope and pray that the new county attorney, Mary Moriarty, will charge this case as it should've been 13 years ago. I have faith in her. I pray I'm right."

Anderson’s body was exhumed in November, FOX 9 reported. The Maple Grove Police Department says the teen's death is an open and active case.
Anderson died in the early morning of Dec. 4, 2009 after drinking vodka with two of his longtime friends.
At about 3:30 a.m., one of the friends called 911 to say that Anderson "fell out of his chair and stopped breathing." At the scene, investigators noted that Anderson had "two black eyes," and "bruising down the side of his nose," as well as "blood on his upper lip and in his nostrils."
One of the friends was arrested, and while in the cop car, screamed "Oh my God, I killed Rob," FOX 9 reported.
However, the medical examiner was unable to find an exact cause of death, and the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office declined to file manslaughter charges.
