Maple Grove Woman Comes Up with 'New Excuse' For Speeding

The Minnesota State Patrol has heard almost every excuse in the book, but they say a woman from Maple Grove came up with one they'd never heard previously. A trooper earlier this month pulled over a woman going 89 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 94.

Before the trooper was able to stop the car, its speed increased to 91 and continued until the vehicle pulled over.

The 19-year-old Maple Grove woman told the trooper she saw him in the median but thought she was OK driving that speed as she was in the "fast lane."
