Maple Grove Worksites, School Win Wellness by Design Awards
Hennepin County 2011 Wellness by Design Awards given for promoting school and worksite wellness.
Three Maple Grove worksites and one school were among the 120 sites chosen to receive the 2011 Hennepin County Wellness by Design Awards.
The goal of the yearly awards is to promote wellness in worksites and schools.
Among the Maple Grove recipients were platinum award winner , gold award winners and the city of and silver award winner

Winning schools were recognized in spring ceremonies and workplaces were honored during a June 23 award ceremony in Brooklyn Center.
"Over the last six years, Hennepin County has presented more than 400 Wellness by Design Awards to organizations that have met specific criteria on how to create policies, programs and environments that support and encourage employee and student health," Hennepin County Board Commissioner Gail Dorfman said. "As an employer with a workforce of more than 8,000 people, Hennepin County is a leader in promoting workplace wellness and congratulates the 2011 Wellness by Design award winners."

The Wellness by Design School Award, according to Hennepin County, recognizes schools that have demonstrated “innovation” in areas such as health education, family and community involvement, physical education, health promotion for staff, healthy school environment, health services, nutrition and counseling and social services.
Worksites in Hennepin County that received the Wellness by Design Worksite awards, according the county, show “accomplishments” in such areas as management support, wellness infrastructure, assessment and evaluation, supportive environments, communication and engagement as well as programs and interventions.
“Data Recognition Corporation is honored to receive our second consecutive Hennepin County Wellness by Design Platinum Award,” Data Recognition Corporation Health and Wellness Director Shannon Vento said. “Hennepin County Health at Work has been an important partner to us as we have grown our Healthy Measures program over the years. Their quality, low-to-no-cost programs and resources have time and again contributed to the success of our health and wellness initiatives. We are thrilled to be among the distinguished employers receiving platinum recognition for their health and wellness efforts.”
