MN Same-Sex Couples Start Signing Up to Marry
Maple Grove was the second site in Hennepin County to open for marriage applications Thursday.

County offices around the Twin Cities began accepting marriage applications from same-sex couples Thursday, with the Maple Grove Service Center the second site in Hennepin County to open.
The first same-sex couple in Minnesota to apply was at Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis, where the license counter opened at 7:30 a.m.
Maple Grove's service center was set to open at 8 a.m., with Hennepin County's Southdale, Ridgedale, Brookdale and Midtown offices opening at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013.
Marriage becomes legal for same-sex couples on Aug. 1, 2013.
