Moms RUN This Town is TRULY for all levels, abilities, and goals.

Moms RUN This town (MRTT) is technically a "running" club, but make no mistake - we include people with all sorts of different goals, of all different levels. I have heard from more than one person that it is hard to get up the guts to join an event for the first time, because they are worried that they will hold others back, or be way too slow in comparison to the others.

So I am here to debunk that idea. Yes, we DO have some ladies who run fast, or far, or both. But even MORE common, are the women who are just starting out. Doing walk/run combos. Running at 13 minute miles. Able to run for a few minutes at a time and then taking breaks. And of course, everything in between the super experienced and the "newbies". As one member put it today, she was worried about feeling out of place because she couldn't run more than a mile, but the group welcomed her with open arms.

So you see, you do NOT have to be "fast", or be able to run a long distance, or even have run at all yet! We are open to ALL LEVELS. No matter what your goal - whether it is to run for 5 straight minutes, to run a mile, to finish a 5k, finish a marathon, get faster - MRTT will offer an incredible degree of support, encouragement and motivation.

As one of the leaders, it is truly important to me to make everybody feel welcome. When a new member attends their first event, I greet them with smiles the same way I greet the members I already know. And one of the things I love most about this group is what a variety of women there are, yet we come together so well.

So what do you have to lose? We are free, welcoming, flexible and have members of all abilities, working towards their own goals. And, every. single. goal is just as important as the next. Let us support you!!!

Background: MRTT is a free, nationwide running club started by a mom, for moms - but we welcome pet moms and any woman, really. There are nearly 800 chapters of MRTT nationwide. The Champlin/Maple Grove group does regular group runs, you can find running buddies or training partners, and we do social events as well (happy hour, coffee, play dates, etc). We often meet up at races, cheer each other on, and occasionally do special events at local businesses.

All you need to do is request to join our private, closed FB group. No fees, no fuss. www.facebook.com/groups/champlinmaplegrove
