New Police Chief Appointed in Maple Grove
The Maple Grove City Council officially appointed the city's new police chief, David Jess, at their Oct. 17 meeting.
Police officers, family and friends attended Monday's Maple Grove City Council meeting to witness the appointment of the city's new police chief, David Jess. Councilmembers out of a pool of candidates during their Oct. 3 special session meeting.
Jess was hired as a Maple Grove police officer in 1985. According to the city’s website, throughout his tenure with Maple Grove, Jess served as a patrol officer, investigator, patrol sergeant, emergency response unit commander and patrol captain. In 2005, Jess was promoted to deputy chief.
Most recently, Jess served as the city's acting police chief during former Police Chief Ramona Dohman's and eventual retirement.
