John William "Bill" Mattheis September 28, 1925 ~ June 13, 2012 Age 86 of Maple Grove Survived by wife of 62 years, Betty; daughter, Connie (Al) LaTendresse; grandchildren: Missy &amp; Lindsey; brother, Gerald (Phyllis) Mattheis. Bill grew up in Indiana and served in the Air Force during WWII. He was wounded on his 9th mission, returned to the states and attended Indiana University. In 1948 he began working for Danner's Variety Store and retired as Vice President in 1983. In 1992, he &amp; Betty moved to Maple Grove and enjoyed spending time with their family. Bill loved to play golf, travel (visiting all 50 states) and read. He kept busy volunteering with the American Red Cross, Boy's Club of America &amp; Veteran's Hospital Book Mobile. He was active in reunions and activities of the 461st Air Force Bombardment Group and was an expert in keeping in contact with people. Visitation Visitation at , Friday, June 15, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. and also one hour prior to services Saturday.
