Osseo Public Schools Eliminate Chemistry Labs

Students enjoy a flame spectrum lab

Osseo Public Schools has made a big change in how they teach science. No longer are students doing chemistry as freshman. The ”Physics First” program of studies has been adopted by the district. This program eliminates chemistry from freshman science and substitutes in an entire year of physics and calls it high school physics. The controversial program reduces the amount of chemistry taught in high school and reduces the rigor of physics normally taught in high school.
