"The Certificate of Excellence (COE) award confirms the school business office’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency. Recognition through the COE program can help strengthen a district’s presentation for bond issuance statements and promotes a high level of financial reporting," the Osseo School District said in a press release. "High performance in financial reporting is critical for many other reasons, including the one referenced every year by the school district's independent auditor: ISD 279 School Board members can trust that they are receiving extremely accurate financial information on which to base Board decisions."

In addition to the ASBO award, the district has won the Minnesota Department of Education's School Finance Award for seven consecutive years.
