Peggy Thompson Wins Annual Award from Edina Realty

Peggy Thompson, office administrator in Edina Realty’s Maple Grove office and an Anoka resident, was honored with an Edina Realty “Emmy” award on Dec. 18 at a special luncheon for the award winners.

Established to honor company founder Emma L. Rovick, the “Emmy” Award is given annually to two people: one employee and one real estate agent who exemplify Edina Realty’s core values of honesty, integrity and commitment.

After getting her start as a real estate office administrator in 1973, Thompson moved to Chicago with her husband where they owned two Italian restaurants. The couple moved back to Minnesota to raise their family and Thompson returned to her career as a real estate office administrator. She has worked at the Edina Grove Maple Grove as office administrator since 1996.

Thompson says her philosophy is to follow the Golden Rule and treat people how she would like to be treated. “Without our agents, I wouldn’t have a job,” Thompson said, who enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons and their families. “I help take care of our people. They are all special.”

“The Maple Grove office wouldn’t be the same without Peggy. She’s like a mother to the staff, working in the background so others can shine. Her colleagues say she’s the glue that holds the office together,” said Barb Jandric, Edina Realty president.

Past Emmy award winners and current nominees review all Emmy award nominations and vote on the top three finalists in both categories. In the final round, every Edina Realty REALTOR and staff member vote on the final award winners. Award winners must excel in customer service, leadership, team building and/or make significant contributions to the company or industry.
