Photos: Heritage Christian Academy Boys Soccer Defeats New Life Academy

The first day of school Sept. 6 also brought with it the fourth win of the season for the Heritage Christian Academy boys soccer team in Maple Grove.

After a tough first half, the Heritage Christian Academy boys soccer team rallied for a win against New Life Academy of Woodbury by a score of 3-1.

Despite having a strong offensive presence during the first half of the Sept. 6 game, Heritage Christian Academy remained tied with New Life Academy at halftime.

About five minutes into the second half, junior Bradley Basco scored the first goal of the game. Junior Justin Piekes followed up with another point for Heritage Christian Academy about 15 minutes into the second half.

A corner kick by Woodbury's Daniel Sleper brought the game to within one point, with Heritage retaining the lead.

With about a minute on the clock, junior Justin Piekes scored his second goal of the game which helped lead Heritage Christian Academy to a final 3-1 win.

It is the fourth win of the season for the Maple Grove high school.

The next game for the Heritage Christian Academy boys soccer team is Thursday, Sept. 8 against Southwest Christian School.
