Photos: Minnesota State Open Championship at Rush Creek Golf Club

Minnesota State Open Championship golfers dodge bunkers, roughs, storms during the weekend tournament in Maple Grove.

Rush Creek Golf Club was home to the Minnesota State Open Championship July 23 and 24 in Maple Grove.

More than 100 of the state's best golfers gathered for the opening rounds of the tournament on Saturday, July 23. Saturday's action included two delays. The tournament finished the afternoon of Sunday, July 24.

Once play was complete on Sunday, July 24, Troy Johnson emerged the winner of the 2011 Minnesota State Open Championship, according to a news release. Johnson, from Rush Creek Golf Club, shot a three round total of 206, 10-under par to win. Johnson won the title by shooting rounds of 71, 68 and 67 over the three-day event. Sammy Schmitz from Northfield Golf Club (208, 8-under par) finished second.
