Portillo's In Maple Grove Evacuated Due To 'Suspicious Package'

Just before 12 p.m. Tuesday, Maple Grove police responded to a 911 call of a suspicious package at Portillo's restaurant.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — The Portillo's restaurant location in Maple Grove was evacuated Tuesday after employees noticed an unattended package. Maple Grove police responded to the restaurant's call of a "suspicious package" just before 12 p.m.

The building was evacuated. The Minneapolis Bomb Squad also responded to the restaurant and determined the package contained no harmful materials and there was no threat to the public.

Portillo's in Maple Grove has since reopened, according to a news release. This remains an active investigation.
