When I stopped working, I looked for how I could continue to be engaged close to my home. I found that the City of Maple Grove has a Senior Center at the Community Center, and a Coordinator whose role is to provide all kinds of activities to keep you engaged.....card playing, volunteering, helping to get the utility bills out etc. There is something for everyone.
I also Chair a monthly meeting that is sponsored by AARP. We meet the third Monday of every month at 10am in the Senior Center. Come and join us! We educate and may join AARP with it's political Agenda for Seniors. On March 17, our speaker will be addressing from a clinical perspective, the importance of an Advanced Directive, a document that is your voice, if/when you cannot speak for yourself.
Do you want to be engaged? If yes, please call the Senior Center to add your name to the mailing list to receive the Monthly Senior Newsletter....oh and by the way, this is for people who are 50+
