State Shutdown Ends

The state government of Minnesota shutdown on July 1 after budget negotations failed. After weeks of negotations, the state government shutdown ended July 20.

July 20, 9:12: Gov. Mark Dayton announces signing of budget bills passed by the Legislature earlier today. The signing effectively ends the state shutdown. More details to follow.

July 20 8:45 a.m.: Various media reports from the capitol indicate the special session ended around 3:45 a.m. this morning and Gov. Mark Dayton is scheduled to sign the budget bills at 9 a.m.
