10. There are no costs, no fees, no charges. We do not do any formal coaching, rather we are a free, social running club. We do have some experienced members with a wealth of knowledge, and they are always willing to answer a few questions - but what we are really here for is to have FUN while getting some exercise!
9. We have an extensive online community, both locally and nationally. MRTT has a huge presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram...there is a national blog as well as many local chapter blogs...including Champlin/Maple Grove at www.momsrunthistown.com/maplegrove
8. We are BIG. Did you know there are now nearly 160 members of the Champlin/Maple Grove Chapter, several other local chapters, and probably around 600 chapters nationwide and in Canada?!
7. You can easily find people within the group who are training for the same race and perhaps at a similar pace. BOOM! Instant training partner!
6. You can vent, or get tips and advice on running, health, parenting or just life, all in our private Facebook group for members-only (keeping in mind, we are not professionals, just like-minded mother runners with varying degrees of experience).
5. Meet up with other members at races. Or, speaking of races, participate in the virtual races that MRTT organizes nationally twice per year, complete with super fun themes and medals. Thousands of women participate in these virtuals, and active chapters (like the Champlin/Maple Grove chapter) make a fun group event out of it!
4. Join group runs or group walks - miles go by SO much faster when you are in a group
3. Attend fun events and activities, such as happy hour, play dates, breakfast, seminars, etc.
2. Safety in numbers!! Not only is it easier to put in the miles when you have other people distracting you are and you're having fun, but it's SAFER when you are in a group rather than alone on a trail.
1. You can meet some of the most amazing, inspiring, awesome women EVER, and we come from all backgrounds. We are all shapes, sizes and fitness levels. Some ladies walk, some jog, some run, and all combinations of the three. No matter where you are at - you are welcome to join in.
