Two Teens Struck, Injured by Motor Vehicle in Maple Grove

Two teenagers were walking in a crosswalk Monday when they were hit by a motor vehicle in Maple Grove, police say.

Two teens were injured in Maple Grove Monday after a motorist struck them while they were walking in a crosswalk, police say. The Maple Grove police responded to the "serious" pedestrian and motor vehicle accident at 7:15 a.m. Monday near the 9400 Block of Fernbrook Lane.

Police say the two pedestrians were struck in the crosswalk by the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not have any injuries.

A 15-year-old male was treated at the scene and released. A 16-year-old male was transported to North Memorial Hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, officials say.

Police says this is an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
