WCCO: Maple Grove's Sydney Smith Shines in Softball
She's helping her team advance in postseason play—and has college plans made, according to WCCO-TV.
Maple Grove Senior High School sophomore Sydney Smith already has her college softball plans set (full ride athletic scholarship at Louisiana State University) so now her full focus is on the 2013 postseason, according to WCCO-TV:
“I played in a national tournament, and they came and watched me,” Smith said. “Then they asked me to come down there and look at the campus…and I was just hooked from day one, I guess. ...
“Our goal was to win conference, and we did that,” she said. “I think our goal now is to win sections, and then move on to state and see how that happens. And if we keep playing how we are playing…then we will for sure move on to state.”
