The northwest suburban chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby invites you to an informational event in observance of World Oceans Day, at Maple Grove Library, Tuesday evening June 7 at 7 pm.  This event is free and open to the public.

Guest speaker at the event will be Prof. Kevin Theissen, Associate Professor and Chair of the Geology Department at the University of St Thomas. Dr. Theissen’s research work applies geological and geochemical methods to study past climate and environmental change, and also he also does research related to climate change education, attitudes, and misconceptions:

This forum will focus on issues facing the health of the world’s oceans, including the bleaching of coral reefs, the warming and acidification of ocean waters related to climate change, and more.
