• Lyon Co. pursuit ends with New Ulm arrest (nujournal.com) — Law enforcement in Lyon County attempted to stop a vehicle near Marshall on Highway 23 Friday morning, but the driver fled, prompting a 27‑mile pursuit that was later called off for safety. The Jeep was eventually found near Seaforth, and after a multi-agency search, the wanted suspect was arrested in New Ulm that evening while the case remains under investigation.
• MN State system warning triggers anxiety (marshallindependent.com) — Minnesota State's warning that some campuses could close is raising concern at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, where leaders say they've triggered financial health warnings for three years. While no specific changes for SMSU are announced yet, officials are weighing systemwide consolidations, building demolitions, and staffing adjustments as working groups prepare recommendations for January.
