• Burnsville Man Charged After Allegedly Fleeing Mendota Heights Officer at More Than 100 MPH (limitless-news.com) — A Mendota Heights police officer allegedly clocked a motorcyclist at more than 100 mph on I-494 near Highway 52, leading to a felony fleeing charge for a Burnsville man. The officer ultimately stopped the chase for safety, but MnDOT cameras and Burnsville police later helped identify and arrest the suspect. His next court hearing is set for November in Dakota County.
   

• Officials identify 2 pedestrians killed in back-to-back light-rail incidents (bringmethenews.com) — A Mendota Heights resident, 54-year-old Randy Scott Gibbs, has been identified as one of two pedestrians killed in separate light-rail incidents last week, underscoring safety concerns for local transit users. Metro Transit says it is heartbroken and is reviewing safeguards, while urging riders, pedestrians, and cyclists from communities like Mendota Heights to obey signals and stay clear of tracks and platform edges.
