Saint Thomas Academy cadets have been honored with a Salute to Youth service award, recognizing their achievements in volunteer projects, academia, sports, spiritual development and family. Chosen for the award were seniors: Michael Evanoff of Roseville, Patrick Hegdahl of Saint Paul and Logan Dufek of Eagan.
Salute to Youth is a program of the Degree of Honor Foundation that recognizes high school seniors who have demonstrated a commitment to community service. Students are sponsored by local businesses, organizations and individuals, and are recognized at a banquet each year. Salute to Youth works closely with administrators from these public and private high schools to bring Salute to Youth to as many schools as possible.
Nominations are accepted from any of the public and private high schools in the metro area. Students eligible for recognition must have made outstanding contributions to their communities and/or humanity and must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.75. Recognition includes an awards banquet for the recipients and their guests; a press release for their local paper; and a plaque commemorating their recognition. As funding allows, several scholarship awards may be given to support higher education endeavors.
