Grand Canyon Rafting
Two runs of Lava Falls in the Grand Canyon. One successful, and one not so successful.
The following is some of Bernie Friel's video footage from a Grand Canyon private permit raft trip Bernie led down the Grand Canyon in 1999. One video clip shows a commercial raft running Lava Falls Rapid followed by Bernie's lead oarsman flipping his raft in the hydraulic at the head of Lava, and the second video clip is Bernie's run of Lava shown from the camera mounted on the platform in his raft which can be seen in the still image (attached) of Bernie's raft in the middle of his run of Lava.
