Cadets Football Rolls Unbeaten Holy Family 48-7
St. Thomas Academy held a 35-0 lead at halftime and never looked back.

The St. Thomas Academy football team remained unbeaten on Friday after a convincing 48-7 win over Holy Family Catholic in Mendota Heights.
The Cadets had little trouble with the Fire, which suffered its first loss of the season. STA took a 15-0 lead after the first quarter, then added 20 in the second to lead 35-0 at halftime. The Cadets added 13 more in the third to take a 48-0 lead before the Fire (5-1) scored a fourth-quarter touchdown.
STA (6-0, 5-0 Classic Suburban Conference) picked up two rushing touchdowns from Nick Waldvogel, as well as ground scores from John Lunger and Hootie Hubbell.

Lunger and Waldvogel also each had a receiving touchdown in the game. Paddy Clancy also returned an interception for a touchdown to cap of the Cadets’ scoring.
The Cadets’ next game is on Friday, Oct. 14 at home against Hill-Murray (5-1, 4-1). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
