ATHLETICS
Henry Sibley senior Kate McKay was selected as the school’s 2014 St. Paul Area Athena Award winner for her achievement in athletics and academics.
Henry Sibley senior Kenneth Jinkins was named to the Pioneer Press’ All-East Metro Football team.
Henry Sibley junior Garrett Beaman placed 2nd and senior Jose Rodriguez placed 4th at the State Wrestling Tournament.
NCAA National Letters of Intent were signed by Kallianne Mogler with Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne University to play Division I soccer, by Jake Ihrke with Winona State University to play Division 2 football, and by Brittany Jessen with the University of South Dakota to play Division 1 volleyball.
The Henry Sibley Varsity Dance Team won their seventh consecutive Classic Suburban Conference Championship and went on to compete in the State Dance Tournament. The team qualified for the State Tournament after placing 2nd in High Kick and 3rd in Jazz at the Section 3AAA Tournament.
The Henry Sibley Football Team was the Class 5A Section 5 Champions and advanced to the State Quarterfinals.
Henry Sibley students Maggie Schmidt, Katie Kostohris, Elizabeth Tuley and Emma Verby competed in the State Girls Swimming and Diving Championship.
Henry Sibley senior Brittany Jessen made the 1,000th assist of her volleyball career in fall 2013. Jessen was also named a Pioneer Press Athlete of the Week.
The ISD 197 Foundation held their annual Warrior 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Sept. 28 with the help of the Henry Sibley Student Council. Many district students and staff placed in the top three in their age groups.
Henry Sibley senior Alex Liu and and junior Anthony Dupont competed in the State Cross Country Tournament.
ARTS
The following Henry Sibley students were named to the All-Conference Choir: Callie Judnick, Megan Olson, Jenny Gravelle, Talia Milavetz, Tristan Skoglund, Brandon Krisko, Casey Wald and Jack Smith.
The following Henry Sibley students were named to the All-Conference Band: Erik Santo, Sarah Records, August Lee, Emma Alley, Kamilla Ruppman, Sarah Yotter, Van Chetham, Rachel Trembulak, Laura Dill, Graham Smith, Matt Foman, PJ Gannon, Ori Routhieaux, Jake Jaeger, Nathan Thirsten, Evan Devine, Monte Fischer and Jett Roeser.
Students from Henry Sibley's band competed at the region's Solo and Ensemble Contest. Jake Jaeger received a Superior Rating for his saxophone solo and the following students received excellent ratings: Laura Dill, Emma Alley, Kamilla Ruppman, Fletcher Todd, Kelly Partington, Erin Nulty, Mariah Tuvey, Sarah Yotter, Becca Hogg and Samantha Bruce.
The Sibley Winter Drumline was the Regional A State Runner-Up at the Minnesota Percussion Association’s State Championships.
The Sibley Winter Color Guard was the 2014 Regional A State Champion at the Northstar Colorguard Circuit Championships for the second year in a row.
Henry Sibley junior Amanda Latulippe won the first annual joint West St. Paul and Mendota Heights Sings contest. Sibley students Mathew Her (junior) was named the runner up for Mendota Heights and Lucas Boeser (senior) was the runner up for West St. Paul.
