Highway 110 East Metro Lane Closures Begin: Details

Work on Highway 110 in the Twin Cities between Highways 13/55 and I-494 is expected to run through fall 2017. Here's what you need to know.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN — Motorists on Highway 110 in Mendota Heights, Sunfish Lake, Inver Grove Heights and West St. Paul will experience lane closures beginning Monday, May 15. Eastbound Highway 110 between Lexington Avenue and I-494 will be reduced to a single lane beginning Monday, May 15 while crews extend turn-lanes, repair drainage and work on medians. These lane closures are needed to prepare for a directional closure of eastbound Highway 110 between I-35E and I-494 that is currently scheduled to begin Monday, June 12, weather permitting.

Work on Highway 110 between Highways 13/55 and I-494 is expected to run through fall 2017. During that time, there will be pavement, signing and drainage improvements along with construction of a Dakota County pedestrian underpass, according to a news release.

  • Note: WB Hwy 110 closure and detour will occur after the EB Hwy 110 lanes are open (tentatively scheduled for July 24)

Note: The north/south movement through the Hwy 149/Dodd Rd and Deleware Ave Hwy 110 intersections will remain open throughout the project. All businesses and residences will remain accessible throughout the project by following detours..

Noise

Nearby residences and businesses may experience some noise during construction work. Starting June 12, construction crews might be working 24 hours a day, 6 days a week. Between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., the following activities should not be performed: Jackhammering, pile driving, saw cutting and concrete crushing. Crews will work to keep noise down.
