'Lucifer' Pleads Guilty To Mendota Heights Murder

Lucifer Nguyen will be sentenced to more than 45 years in prison, according to Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom.

Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Lucifer Vincent Nguyen, 44, pled guilty late Tuesday to one count of murder and two counts of aggravated robbery.

Nguyen admitted to a July 29 crime spree in Mendota Heights that included the murder of 48-year-old Beverly Cory.

"Under this plea agreement, Lucifer Nguyen will be sentenced to over 45 years in prison," Backstrom said in a statement. "If he complies with all requirements of his confinement, he could be released under supervision following 30 years in prison."

Judge Christian Wilton set the sentencing hearing for Friday, May 11, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in Hastings.
