Lillie News reported that the Mendota Heights City Council recently approved amendments to the current ordinance governing the installation of solar panels.

The city has so far approved four permits for roof-mounted solar panels, including one for Friendly Hills Middle School.

Applicants said the review process for a permit took too long, so the city council directed staff to propose amendments to make the process more efficient.
