The city of Mendota Heights has hired a contractor to inspect sump pumps in residential homes now and through the summer.

The city of Mendota Heights has hired a contractor to inspect sump pumps in residential homes now and through the summer. Inspectors have been issued city identification badges with their photos on them.
Police say someone comes to your door and you have immediate safety concerns or to validate their ID, call 911. If you have questions about the city's sump pump inspection program, contact Public Works Director Ryan Ruzek at (651)452-1850.
"The PD is not trying to pass the buck by having you contact Mr. Ruzek, it's just that some of us in the PD had to google what a sump pump is," Mendota Heights police said on Facebook. "It's totally a thing, we checked."
