Mendota Heights Resident Lead Police to Alleged Stolen Vehicle

A suspect was arrested this week thanks to an observant Mendota Heights resident who called in a suspicious vehicle in their neighborhood. Police said the resident's willingness to look after their neighbors resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle and most likely prevented other crimes.

The incident was first reported when a resident called in a suspicious vehicle Wednesday near the intersection of Dorset Road and Delaware Avenue. The resident told police that he didn't recognize the white car parked outside his address.

The white car registered as stolen from Saint Paul, according to scanner audio posted by MN Police Clips.

"This is a great reminder of the positive things that happen when the police and the community work together," Mendota Heights police said on Facebook. "Never hesitate to call 911 when you see something out of the ordinary.

Correction: Previous reports of a robbery in the neighborhood have been removed.
