Mendota Heights Won't Join Ice Arena Task Force
The City Council voted 3-2 to stay out of a group that would study the feasibility of a new facility in West St. Paul.

A new ice arena might be built in West St. Paul, but Mendota Heights won't be part of the process.
The City CouncilΒ votedΒ 3-2 against joiningΒ the task force that will decide if a newΒ ice arena should replace the old one in West St. Paul, according to an article inΒ the Star Tribune.
βThis is something that came to us and kind of pushed us against the wall,β Mendota Heights Mayor Sandra Krebsbach told the Star Tribune aboutΒ the invitation to join the task force.
"The school district said it canβt contribute to the construction, management or maintenance of the arena, and Krebsbach said Mendota Heights is in almost the same boat," the Star Tribune article said.
Krebsbach and council members Liz Petschel andΒ Mike Povolny voted against joining the task force.Β Council members Ultan Duggan andΒ Steve Norton voted for joining the task force.
